Self-servicing my bike
Hi all, after having my bike for more than a year (riding through all weathers) I'm worried that it may need taking appart and cleaning to get rid of old oil/grease and topping up with new to make it run faster and smoother. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this as I don't want to do something stupid and break it. Also, any tips on different parts of this process (e.g. cleaning the chain) are more than welcome.

Re: Self-servicing my bike
Steve, i tried a self service bike service and thought i new what i was doing - i completely cocked it up and the bike ended up running worse than before i started - i now get it done at grafham - they have a bronze basic service for about £20 and a silver service for £30 the bike runs a dream, if you know what you are doing go for it, but if you are in any doubt -leave it to the bike tekkies! Happy tinkering

Bike servicing
Thanks for the replies. Overwhelmingly it seems a service from a shop is the best way forward, and as Keith said yesterday "If something breaks, buy a new one, besides that - don't tinker with your bike or you'll make it worse." It sounds like Grafham is the place of choice too.
